we have 3 cats, ages 3,9, and an 11 year old. The 3 and 11 year old are in fantastic health and are great weights. All of the cats are indoor/outdoor. We live at a dead end with a patch of woods next to our house and they like to explore out there. They currently eat Taste of the Wild grain free cat food. It is great cat food and I would prefer they not eat any grains. I don't think they are any grain free weight management cat foods out there. What should we do for her? She weights 16 POUNDS and is a huge bowling ball. She went to the vet today to be checked for diabetes and had blood work done. She is not diabetic but we will find out if there is anything else wrong with her when the results to the blood test come back.
I am worried about if they all end up eating the weight management food it couldn't be good for the healthy weight cats. My mom said she could try to feed them separate though. Do cats need to free choice feed or eat twice a day?
If there are no weight management foods that are grain free then I will look into other brands as long as they are natural and holistic and have no corn, preservatives or by-products.
cats are carnivores and cannot digest grains. I also belong to a raw feeding forum where people feed rodents and what not to their pets. 95% of the time the intestines and stomach are left behind unless it is a nursing animal who drinks milk still.
so basicly for her cut out all dry food and switch to wet?
