Need to help a friend down and out.?

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I have a friend who’s in the hospital. He’s physically and mentally not capable of communicating. I have the keys to his apartment and his belongings in the hospital bag, but there is a latch that can only applied from the inside, that has freakishly fallen on. The leasing office says this happen sometimes but will not assist me to enter with the help of their maintenance. Reason, because I’m not on the lease. I informed them that he is in and out of conciousness. He’s suffering from complications from diabetes. I need access though to find out who his employer is because he works from home online. This info along with other important things are in is home. I also need to pay his rent with his account but don’t know how to go about that. How can I legally get the property to assist me in his apartment and pay his rent with his account?Any suggestions would be helpful.

Risk of complications greater 30+ and previous complications?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Just wondering. If my hubby and i ever decide to try for a third, it would have to be sooner than later as i will be 29 in a couple of months. With my last daughter (born october 2009) I had gestational diabetes, placenta previa, and preterm labor that required bedrest for my remaining 3 months. I am afraid of this happening again, or possibly increasing the risks to the unborn baby? I’m not sure if it would be wise to try again, or conceide to having 2 wonderful little girls and get my hubby fixed? (LOL)
Anyone have pregnancy complications, then have the next one be fine? Past age 30? Thanks! =)

Do I really have to go vegan to reverse diabetes?

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

I am newly pre-diabetic (or diabetic, still waiting for A1C). Certainly showing elevated blood glucose levels and have a family history and other risk factors.

Reading and reading on the topic, I keep reading that you must become vegan to cure diabetes or avoid complications. The proponents of a vegan diet for a diabetes cure seem to suggest that any other approach is not as effective.

Is it really necessary to become vegan to treat/cure one’s diabetes?

Can acute stress lead to something as serious as a brain hemorrhage?

Monday, July 26th, 2010

I’ve been following the condition of rocker Bret Michaels after he suffered a massive brain hemorrhage a couple of days ago. I’d seen him on Celebrity Apprentice a couple of times, and knew he’d suffered from juvenile diabetes most of his life. And on one show he broke down after his daughter became ill, and then got word she might also have the condition. With his recent emergency appendectomy, complications, and him working at a faster pace than usual, could these things have combined to lead to a hemorrhage?

What is the healthiest/quickest way to lose weight?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

I am 13 years old and, according to most BMI charts and Wii Fit Plus, I am about 15-20 pounds overweight. My BMI is in between 25 and 26, and my goal is to get it to 23. That may not seem like much, so my doctors haven’t told me to lose weight, but I feel that it is necessary for self-esteem and health purposes. I love science, particularly epidemiology and physiology, and I know that if I continue to be even slightly overweight I am at risk for more heart complications and diabetes. The last thing I want is to be obese when I am older. I am not going to go on a crazy diet because I still want to get all the nutrients I need to function properly. I also have no time to exercise for more than an hour daily. Oh, and another important detail, I have a large muscle mass. This may account for most of the extra weight, but my waistline isn’t exactly ideal. As my friend put it, I am "chubby." Can someone please give me some tips that help?
