Does this mean I don't have PCOS?
I really thought I did. I’ve had irregular periods since I was 13. I am now 24. Since last summer, I’ve been having regular periods. And then it went a bit out of wack during the Fall with periods lasting close to two weeks and then two weeks later I would get my period again. I recently went and got tested to see if there were any problems. My doctor thought maybe I have PCOS. I had a diabetes test, a thyroid test and an anemia test. All tests came back normal. Does this mean I don’t have PCOS? My periods seem to be pretty normal again. I’m getting it every month. I have no idea what is going on with this body of mine. No, I’m not taking any drugs or vitamins. I have gained a considerable amount of weight. Most of it was due to my pregnancy 2 years ago and the rest is just because I’m lazy and don’t excercise. I wonder if my weight gain could be the reason why my period is more regular now but then how can that be when I’m overweight? With my height, I should be a lot thinner than what I am now.
I only know of two women who have PCOS. Neither one has been able to conceive and both have irregular periods. Both are overweight too.
The good thing is, my husband and I are ttc baby #2 and my doctor didn’t think there will be any problems even if I do have PCOS since I was able to get pregnant on my own before.
The thyroid test was used to test my hormone levels and to see if my thyroids were working like they should. Both tests came back normal.
I did not have an ultrasound at all.
