type 1 diabetes and weight loss?

I have decided that I need to loose weight as I feel I have become insulin insensitive.I have also decided I will be doing this slowly and healthily.I understand there is a relationship between large amounts of insulin and weight gain.So if I reduce my carbs and therfore my insulin and do exercise to furher reduce my insulin needs will I loose weight?Also if I was having a snack what is better an apple or lean protien as the apple would require more insulin….will I have to reduce my fruit intake to loose weight?Im sorry about all the questions I am just so confused.Perhaps everything I am saying is wrong!xxx

How effective is running in preventing diabetes?

My mother is diabetic and I am a bit hypoglycemic. I am a bit worried about not being able to control sugars and would like to know from someone who might have a background in the medical field/nutrition and diet what effect running has. I’ve heard that exercising is "like taking insulin".

bags can be extremely annoying, as can fitting everything into pockets. there may be no way around this. I can’t see one. its especially akward in clubs when you have to keep a small bag on when you don’t want to look stupid, and/or you want to dance etc.

I was just diagnosed with severe hypoglycemia and put on a strict diet. The paperwork is a little unclear. What snacks can I eat between meals or on the road? I am use to a heavy sugar diet.
